It’s always of the opinion that nothing should be invented just for the sake of its novelty value, except art. In the case of assertion that monetize whatever Information & Communication Technology or platform invented. It just makes business sense considering how much can potentially be spent on research and development. We may not love it every single day, but we love it enough. That’s because the Internet has the potential to literally determine how competitive a country can be in the global arena, based on how well it embraces the possibilities that Technology presents.
Information and Communications Technology (ICT), is an extended synonym, an umbrella term which contains both Information Technology (IT) as well as Communications Technology under its fold. In fact, it is a very broad term used to refer to the literally infinite areas of scientific studies and techniques used in the handling of telecommunications; media management and broadcast; intelligent systems; data handling, processing, storage and transmission; network based solutions; as well as audio visual monitoring processes.
More recently, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is being used to define merging of several different technologies, each having vastly different types of data sets and formats from one other. Some of these emerging technologies which now fall under ICT are the amalgamation of audiovisual, telephony and networking, all using a single means for transmission. Previously used landlines are quickly being phased out in favor of optical cable medium which makes all this possible. This has given a huge boost to the implementation of this converging field, both economically, as cabling, servicing and maintenance costs are drastically reduced, as well as technically, as it provides better signal management and distribution.
ICT for Talent Identification
Talent diversity has long been heralded as a key ingredient needed to build innovative teams and to equip companies and organisations with the ability to address the needs of markets and operations in multicultural environments. “Diversity; ‘the art of thinking independently together’”.
In today’s world, many cities are vying to become such talent hubs. In this quest, they are devoting efforts to foster diversity by attracting individuals and companies with very different backgrounds and profiles. Nations thrive on the diversity of talents and skills that sustain the industries and clusters characterising a modern economy. As expected from various assessments, research has shown that the educational diversity of the workforce is particularly beneficial for the economy, significantly increasing the productivity of firms and enhancing entrepreneurial behaviour
